A Gary man is facing charges he dragged a woman to his apartment and sexually assaulted her.
Dennis Lyons, Sr., 63 was charged Saturday with rape, criminal confinement, intimidation, sexual battery and kidnapping.
He is in custody, held on a $10,500 cash surety bond.
An initial hearing was set Monday.
Gary Police responded at 8:17 p.m. Dec. 5 to the 100 block of W. 11th Avenue.
The victim told police Lyons dragged her to his apartment, threw her to the sofa and began kissing her neck. He ripped clothes off her and forcibly performed a sex act on the victim.
When she tried to escape, he threw her on a bed. He opened a drawer and flashed a gun.
The victim screamed for help and fled the apartment.
Camera footage showed Lyons dragging the woman to his apartment, then escaping. He later appeared to leave with a gun under his arm.
