A Gary man is facing charges for shooting a couple, including his ex-girlfriend, outside Save More Foods on Monday.
Reginald Arnold, 44, is charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
He is in custody, held on a $12,500 cash surety bond. His next court date is Feb. 20.
Gary Police responded around 8 p.m. Feb. 10 to the grocery store, 921 Broadway Avenue.
The woman, 43, told investigators she was leaving work to get into her current boyfriend’s car when Arnold walked up and opened fire. She was shot in the elbow and chest. Arnold went around the car and shot more at the other man.
Cops first asked who the shooter was.
“Someone who stalks me,” she replied.
She asked paramedics if she was going to die.
Cops found 13 bullet casings in the lot.
Her boyfriend, 28, was shot in the thigh and lower back.
Arnold also worked at the grocery store. A security video captured the shooting before Arnold ran off-camera toward Broadway.
Records show he was convicted in 2010 on a battery case.
