A Gary woman is dead after a house fire in the city’s Miller section Sunday night.
The Lake County Coroner’s office in a Monday release said that Priscilla Masters, 76, died from smoke inhalation during a house fire that occured in the 1000 block of Union St. Coroners were dispatched to the scene around 10:48 p.m. February 16, according to the release.
Gary Fire Department spokesman Kevin Benford didn’t return a call for comment before deadline. No other information was released on the fire.
The Gary Police Department and Indiana Fire Marshal’s office assisted, according to the release.
