They could also visit outside community tables for giveaways and treats. Miss Jamie’s Farm performed family friendly music outdoors. Inside, kiddies could trick or treat inside a spooky trail. Inflatables with Halloween themes were festive and highly used in the gym where a dance party also took place.
Tyler and Lindsay Dailey of Glenview rode the Halloween train with their children Robby, 1, and Rylan, 3.
“We’ve never done this before,” Lindsay Dailey said about the event. “It’s so cute.”
Parents Ake Paramadilok and Julie Cimaglio of Glenview brought their children Dakota, 1, and Denali, almost 4.
The family came dressed as Super Mario characters. Last year, the family attended the event.
“This is amazing,” the children’s mother said.
Christina Kim of Glenview attended the event for a first time with children Matthew, 4, and Jojo, 7, a second-grader, and liked the fact that Matthew and Jojo were, “starting to realize what the fun behind Halloween is.”
Anna Guerrero of Northbrook brought children Navy, 3, and August, 4. They were among families first in line to enter the event and the children quickly stepped forward when those waiting in line were told they could enter the party.
At Halloween for Navy and August, “I just hope they have fun most importantly and I hope they just create a memory,” Anna Guerrero said.
Joe Greenwood of Glenview attended with children Liam, 3, and Griffin, 5.
“It’s always just a fun time and they (park district) do a great job and have a lot of great stuff for the kids,” the boys’ father said.
Aaron Sheehan, a second-grader from Rolling Meadows, had fun tossing hay in the tractor hayride with parents Matt and Liz Sheehan. The hayride took riders around the Attea Middle School building.
“We love to watch him having a good time,” said Aaron’s mother. “We love to watch him enjoying the community events and we’re so lucky for the beautiful weather.
“We’re grateful that there are community opportunities to do this,” Liz Sheehan said about Aaron.
“We hope that he remembers this for a long time.”
