A Hebron man faces charges after his 14-year-old son found a large cache of child porn on his dad’s computer.
Peter Verboon, 38, was charged Oct. 10 with ten counts of possession of child pornography.
He posted a $5,000 cash surety bond Tuesday.
The teen told investigators he saw the files while gaming. He saw similar images about two years earlier.
There were “a lot” of images, he said.
Police executed a search warrant on Aug. 15, 2023.
Verboon declined to talk to the police. Court records note he texted a woman saying he “would be going to jail soon.”
After a forensic analysis, cops found about 450 images and 400 videos of child porn on a seized computer. About 360 more pictures and 175 videos were difficult for a software to prove if they depicted kids.
It was downloaded between February 2011 and August 2023, records allege.
