Between January 2023 and March 3, the FBI has received approximately 10 incident reports per month for school-centric threat, whether founded or unfounded. Swatting threats — so-named from the massive police and sometimes SWAT response they raise — ends up to be very costly, upwards in the six figures, experts say.
