Police in Sauk Village are seeking the public’s help in investigating a homicide that took place Thursday, while authorities also reported the homicide of a Ford Heights man.
Sauk Village police said there were called at 12:07 a.m. Thursday to a report of a gunshot victim in the 1900 block of 218th Place.
Officers found 53-year-old John Terry II, of Chicago Heights, with multiple gunshot wounds on the front porch of a residence at the location, according to a news release from police Chief Malcolm White.
Terry, of the 100 block of W. 16th St., was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. They said investigators have been canvasing the area for witnesses and evidence.
Terry died from multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide by the Cook County medical examiner’s office, following an autopsy Friday.
The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is assisting Sauk Village detectives. Police ask anyone with information to contact the Sauk Village Police Department’s Crime Tip Line, 708-475-3679.
The medical examiner’s office reported 38-year-old Chicago Heights resident Jason Peden died early the morning of Aug. 11 in the 1400 block of Diplomat Lane, Ford Heights.
Cook County sheriff’s police said officers responded at 4:13 a.m. Aug. 11 to the address for a report of shots fired and found Peden with multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers began life-saving measures, but Peden was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the medical examiner. Peden lived in the 700 block of Grant Avenue.
Sheriff’s police, who provide police services in Ford Heights, continue to investigate and ask that anyone with information call 708-865-4896.
The medical examiner also reported the death recently of Keyshawn Johnson, 20, of the 14900 block of LaSalle Street, Dolton.
Johnson suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced at 4:59 p.m. Aug. 7 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the office, which ruled the death a homicide.
