National Weather Service officials are expecting another hot a humid day Thursday with temperatures reaching into the 90s with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon hours.
Officials said severe weather was not expected but the strongest of the storms could produce gusty winds. The heat index could climb to 95 to 100 degrees, but cooler conditions are expected closer to the Lake Michigan shore, officials said.
Current morning conditions at Midway Airport is partly cloudy at 76 degrees. Farther north at O’Hare International Airport conditions are the same at 71 degrees, officials reported.
Officials said there is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms Thursday in the afternoon and going into the overnight hours Friday.
