After a six-game losing streak that included a 23-20 Thanksgiving loss to the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears coach Matt Eberflus told reporters the following day he was confident he would coach the team’s next game at San Francisco.
Instead, the Bears fired Eberflus two hours after he spoke — the first time the Bears have fired a head coach during the season — and named offensive coordinator Thomas Brown as the interim head coach.
