Human bones were found near the Kennedy Expressway in the Bucktown neighborhood Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
Chicago police alerted state police Sunday afternoon to skeletal remains found in an embankment just off the northbound expressway at Webster Avenue, state police representatives said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office determined that the bones were human, a spokesperson said Monday.
State police said they were still investigating and didn’t have further information.
