New cases of COVID-19 numbered 6,239 Tuesday, with 116 more deaths from the respiratory disease. Overall, Illinois is “moving in the right direction,” U.S. surgeon general says, but “we have to stay the course. We can’t let fatigue cause us to make poor decisions this holiday season.”
