At the height of the pandemic, youth unemployment rates skyrocketed in Illinois. In 2020, it soared to a staggering 23.3% — 29% among Black youth and 25.7% among Hispanic youth. Suburban workforce development centers offer a variety of services to help empower youth to find jobs.
