Joseph Bologne (Kelvin Harrison Jr.) was an extraordinarily accomplished man in Marie Antoinette’s France. He was a scholar, a fencer, a virtuoso violinist and a sought-after composer. But he was all but erased from history because he was Black. “Chevalier,” a fictionalized version of his story, brings him back to the forefront.
