Kane County property tax bills payable in 2024 are expected to be mailed on May 1, Kane County officials said.
According to Kane County Treasurer Christopher J. Lauzen, the first installment will be due June 3, with the second installment due Sept. 3.
Beginning May 1, taxpayers can go to the treasurer’s website at Treasurer.KaneCountyIL.gov to view and print duplicate bills, officials said.
According to a press release from the Kane County Treasurer’s Office, there are a variety of methods taxpayers can use to pay their property tax bills.
Online payments are accepted at Treasurer.KaneCountyIL.gov. There is no fee for an e-check payment, according to the release, but there are convenience fees when using credit or debit cards to make the payments. Over-the-phone payments are not accepted.
Taxpayers can also mail a check with their payment to the Kane County Treasurer’s Office using the payment coupon and envelopes provided with the tax bill.
Payments by check, with the payment coupon and in the envelopes provided, can also be placed in the drive-up payment drop box behind Building A at the Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave. in Geneva. The drop box is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Many Kane County banks will accept on-time payments at their drive-up facilities if accompanied with a payment coupon, according to the release.
Only personal checks and money order payments will be accepted for property tax payments at the Kane County Clerk’s Branch Office at 5 E. Downer Place, Suite F, in downtown Aurora, officials said.
Payments may also be made at the Kane County Treasurer’s Office, Building A at the Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave. in Geneva, during its regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
