Lake elections board updates three polling sites

The Lake County Board of Elections updated three polling sites Thursday in Hammond and Dyer.

Director Michelle Fajman said one site will be moved to Hammond Central High School, 5926 Calumet Ave., from First Presbyterian Church after the latter was sold.

Polling sites previously housed at the School City of Hammond Administration Building will be moved to the Hammond Academy of Science and Technology, 33 Muenich Ct., due to HVAC issues.

Bibich Elementary, located at 14600 W 81st Ave. in Dyer, will again be a polling site. It was moved to Faith Reformed Church recently due to school construction.

Early voting starts Oct. 8.

Early voting locations include:

— Election and Voter Registration Office, 2293 N. Main St., Room A-205, Crown Point
— Gary Public Library, 220 W. 5th Ave.
— Hobart Police Command Center, 705 E. 4th St.
— Munster Town Hall, 1005 Ridge Rd.
— St. John Township Assessor’s Office, 9157 Wicker Ave.
— Winfield Government Complex, 10645 Randolph St.
— East Chicago County Courthouse, 3711 Main St.
— Hammond County Courthouse, 232 Russell St.
— Lowell Town Hall, 501 E. Main St.
— Schererville Town Hall, 10 E. Joliet St.
— Wicker Park Breezeway, 8554 Indianapolis Blvd, Highland
