East Chicago man charged with rape
An East Chicago man was charged Oct. 1 with a Jan. 2, 2022 rape.
The victim said Tommy Talley, now 39. was like a “second or third cousin” and let him crash at her East Chicago home.
That night, he showed up drunk and uninvited. She allowed him to stay, but around 3 a.m. she woke up to him raping her, charges allege.
He has not been apprehended, ordered held on a $4,000 cash surety bond.
Illinois man charged with assaulting girl
Bennie Bryant IV, 29, was charged Thursday with two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor and child seduction.
He has not been apprehended, ordered held on a $7,000 cash surety bond.
Schererville police reported the girl, 15, said Bryant had touched her inappropriately, including while she was sleeping, between March and July 2023.
Bryant allegedly sent the girl videos on him having sex and asked her for nude pictures.
