Letters to the Editor: Longtime memories make Ribfest’s cancellation disappointing

Longtime memories make Ribfest’s cancellation disappointing

I just read your Hilary Decent’s column about Ribfest in the June 23 Naperville Sun and I completely agree with her. I was so disappointed to see the news that it was not going to be held this year.

I lived in Naperville for 34 years before moving to Florida almost three years ago and I can tell you that Ribfest was always something that my family and I always looked forward to around the Fourth of July … rides and games for the kids and live music and a cold beer sitting on the baseball field at Naperville Central High School. Now that was the best of summer in Naperville!

Naperville was an amazing place to raise a family but things there appear to be changing, and not necessarily for the better.
