Lincolnwood firefighters remove trapped driver from vehicle after rollover crash

An unidentified motorist in Lincolnwood was extricated from their vehicle and transported in critical condition to an area hospital Sunday night after a crash that involved the vehicle rolling over “numerous times,” according to a Lincolnwood Fire Department news release.

According to the release, around 10:23 p.m. Sunday, emergency responders were called to the scene of a traffic accident at Lincolnwood Drive and Greenleaf Avenue where they found the single vehicle. Both the fire and police departments responded.

After rolling over several times, the release explains, the vehicle — which authorities did not provide a description of — had come to rest upright next to a tree. The vehicle was heavily  damaged and the driver was trapped inside, “requiring immediate extrication,” according to the release.

Authorities stated in the release that the motorist was “successfully removed, treated and transported by paramedics to a local Level I Trauma Center in critical condition.”

No passengers were in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved in the incident, according to emergency responders.
