A Lisle woman was badly injured and a dog killed after the car in which they were driving struck a tree in Naperville early Saturday morning, police said.
The 20-year-old woman was driving on South Naper Boulevard about 3:45 a.m. when her 2021 Kia Forte went off the road and into a tree at Culpepper Drive, according to a Naperville Police Department release. She needed to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to an area hospital with “significant injuries,” the release said.
A small dog inside the car was taken to a local emergency veterinarian hospital where it later died.
The roadway remained closed until 8:20 a.m. Saturday by traffic crash invesigators and reconstruction specialists, the release said. The case remains under investigation.
