Naperville police say they have detained a suspect they believe could be responsible for a Monday night shooting in which an 18-year-old man was injured.
The incident was reported about 8:50 p.m. when police were sent to the 100 block of Testa Drive, near Jefferson and Ogden avenues, and found the victim with a single gunshot wound to the chest laying on the grass outside an apartment building, a news release said. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.
A man, also 18, is being held by police as a person of interest in the case. The two knew each other, meaning it was not a random attack, the release said.
No details were provided on what occurred or might have provoked the shooting.
