A 20-year-old man was pronounced dead overnight after two vehicles collided on the West Side in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 3:50 a.m., a silver sedan was headed north at a high rate of speed in the 800 block of South Cicero Avenue when it collided with a vehicle that was making a turn, police said.
A passenger in the sedan suffered severe trauma to the body, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital, police said.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
Citations were pending and the Major Accident Investigation Unit was investigating.
