Man, 32, pronounced dead in fire overnight in Grand Crossing neighborhood

A 32-year-old man was pronounced dead overnight after he was recovered from a building that caught fire in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, officials said.

Shortly after 2:15 a.m., police and firefighters were called to a fire in the 7100 block of South Rhodes Avenue. A man was recovered from the fire and was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

No other injuries were reported, and the Chicago Fire Department will be conducting an investigation.
