Man, 35, fatally shot in South Chicago, child found inside vehicle, police say

A man was fatally shot in the South Chicago neighborhood Saturday evening, according to Chicago police.

Police responded to a man slumped over the wheel in the 2000 block of East 79th Street just before 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The man, 35, was found with a gunshot wound to his right arm. A child, 4, was also found in the vehicle without any injuries.

The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

No one is in custody.
