Man, 40, dies Wednesday night after being wounded in shooting on Far South Side

A 40-year-old man was fatally wounded Wednesday night while he was walking in the Roseland neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 9 p.m., the victim was walking in the first block of East 110th Place when he suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, police said. He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was later pronounced dead.

No one was in custody, and detectives were conducting a homicide investigating.
