A 25-year-old man was critically wounded inside of a vehicle overnight after a gun discharged while he was passing it to a 23-year-old woman in the Lakeview neighborhood, Chicago police said.
About 3:05 a.m. Wednesday, the man was inside a vehicle with a woman in the 2900 block of North Pine Grove Avenue when passed the weapon to her and the gun went off striking him to the head.
Paramedics were called to the scene and the man was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
The woman was taken into custody and charges were pending.
A firearm was recovered at the scene and detectives were investigating.
