Man critically wounded Saturday morning in shooting on West Side

An 18-year-old man was critically wounded Saturday morning on the West Side in the Austin neighborhood, Chicago police said.

About 11 a.m., the victim was outside an alley in the 200 block of South Cicero Avenue when a known suspect pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking him multiple times to the face and body, police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. The gunman was arrested and a gun was recovered, police said.

Detectives were investigating.
