Man critically wounded Tuesday night in shooting at gas station in Bronzeville

A 35-year-old man was wounded Tuesday night while he was at a gas station on the South Side in the Bronzeville neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before midnight, the victim was standing in a gas station in the 4700 block of South Michigan Avenue when he was approached by three people. One of them pulled out a handgun and fired three gunshots, striking the victim twice to the abdomen, police said.

The victim was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was listed in critical condition.

The gunman and the two other people fled the scene after the shooting and no one was in custody. Detectives were investigating.
