Man fatally shot after verbal argument in Greater Grand Crossing, police say

A man was fatally shot early Saturday morning after a verbal altercation in Greater Grand Crossing, police said.

The man, 30, was arguing with an unknown male on the 7400 block of South State Street at around 4:30 a.m. The other man then pulled out a gun and shot him in the chest, according to police.

The shooter fled northbound in an SUV. The man was later pronounced dead, police said.

No arrests have been made.
