A man was fatally wounded overnight in a double shooting on the South Side in the Woodlawn neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Around midnight Thursday, a man described as in his 30s, and another man, 36, were standing in a vacant lot in the 700 block of East 67th Street when someone opened fire in their direction, police said.
The younger man suffered multiple wounds to the body, and was taken in critical condition to UChicago Medicine where he was pronounced dead. The other victim suffered two wounds to the wrist, and also was taken to the same hospital where he was listed in fair condition, police said.
No one was in custody for the deadly attack, and detectives were investigating.
