A 56-year-old man was fatally wounded while sitting in his living room Monday night from gunfire outside his residence, Chicago police said,
About 8 p.m., the victim was sitting in the front room of a residence in the 6600 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue when shots were fired from the sidewalk, striking the man to the torso, police said.
He was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was pronounced dead.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting,
