Man fatally wounded, woman injured in apparent road rage shooting Tuesday in Schiller Park

A man was fatally wounded, and the woman he was driving with suffered a gunshot wound Tuesday afternoon in an apparent road rage incident in northwest suburban Schiller Park, police said.

Officers responded Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. to a call of a road rage incident with shots fired in the 10000 block of Irving Park Road. One vehicle, a Nissan Sentra, was occupied by a man and a woman, and the other vehicle, a Chevrolet Traverse was carrying a man and a woman, with three younger occupants, according to a Schiller Park police department release.

The man in the Nissan was fatally shot, and the woman suffered a gunshot wound, the release said. The woman was taken to an area hospital where her condition was stabilized.

Police were investigating.
