A man is dead and a woman was in custody after he jumped in front of the car she was driving early Sunday morning in Chicago Lawn, according to police.
Police said the man, 32, was arguing with the woman, 36, on the 2600 block of West 60th Street around 4:50 a.m. and refused to get in a car with the woman. As the woman tried to drive away, police said the man jumped in front of the vehicle.
The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with abdominal injuries and died shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The man, a Gary resident whose identity wasn’t publicly released Monday, died around 9:50 a.m. Sunday, according to the medical examiner’s office. An autopsy conducted Monday ruled his death a homicide due to multiple injuries. Police said they arrested the woman and that area detectives were investigating.
