A shooting following an altercation in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood Wednesday afternoon left a 34-year-old man in critical condition, according to Chicago Police.
The man who was shot approached individuals near 2400 North Clark St. before a man fired at the 34-year-old and fled. The gunshot victim was hit in the chest and transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital, police said. As of Thursday morning, police said Area 3 detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
Ald. Timmy Knudsen (43rd) said in a statement that “there is reason to believe this is an isolated incident wherein the victim and offender had a preexisting relationship,” according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
