Man killed after shooting, hit-and-run in Gage Park, police say

A shooting led to a hit-and-run in Gage Park, killing a man early Sunday morning, police said.

Two men were arguing on the 5600 block of South Artesian Avenue when one fired shots from a vehicle at around 1:34 a.m. The shooter then fled westbound on 57th Street in the car, striking a man on the street, according to police.

The 27-year-old man on the street was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The man that was shot at sustained a graze wound to the face and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, police said.

No arrests have been made.
