The Porter County Coroner’s Office continues its search for relatives of a man killed Wednesday night when he was struck by a vehicle.
The coroner’s office was dispatched around 7:23 p.m. on Nov. 13 to the area of U.S. 20 and Samuelson Road in Portage regarding a pedestrian-vehicle fatality, according to a release from that office.
A 65-year-old man was found in the roadway. Public identification of the victim is being withheld pending the location and notification of his next of kin, according to the coroner’s office.
An autopsy determined the death was an accident and the cause was multiple blunt force trauma. Toxicology results are pending.
The Portage Police Department is investigating the fatality.
