A man is dead and two others were injured after an incident in Gary Tuesday night.
Gary Police responded around 10:28 p.m. January 21 to a call for a possible gunshot victim at home in the 2100 block of Delaware Street, Police spokesman Jack Hamady said in a release. They arrived to find a 22-year-old woman who’d been shot, he said.
Moving inside, officers found a 26-year-old Gary man unresponsive in the kitchen; a third man had been shot in the abdomen, Hamady said.
The woman, who police discovered was from East Chicago, and the other man, who is 31 and from Chicago, were taken to Methodist Hospitals’ Northlake Campus for their injuries, Hamady said, though the man was taken by a private party. Firefighters attempted to revive the man in the kitchen, but he died at the scene.
Officers secured the scene, and the Lake County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force, Lake County Coroner’s Office, and Lake County Crime Lab were called in to assist.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective D. Moran at (219) 755-3855.
