Man pronounced dead in apartment fire overnight in Brighton Park

A man believed to be in his 60s was pronounced dead in an overnight apartment fire that displaced four others in the Brighton Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday, the man was found unresponsive in an apartment fire in the 4500 block of South Francisco Avenue. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Four other people were displaced. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
