The FBI is investigating a Thursday afternoon bank robbery at a U.S. Bank branch in Elmhurst.
According to a news release, around 3:19 p.m. a man demanded money from the bank, 536 S. York Street. The man allegedly displayed a silver or gray handgun and fled on foot. No injuries were reported.
Authorities said the man was described as Hispanic, 30-39 years old, medium build, and dark hair with a white patch or blonde hair on the left side of his head. The man wore a black and white patterned face mask, a black zip-up jacket, a baseball hat, blue jeans, and athletic shoes. He carried a gray or dark blue Under Armor bookbag, the release said.
According to the release, law enforcement officials believe the man may also be responsible for an Oct 18, 2023 bank robbery at a U.S. Bank branch in Schaumburg, a Dec. 16, 2023 robbery of the same U.S. Bank branch in Elmhurst, and the Schaumburg branch again on March 6.
