Man wounded by CCL holder when drawing gun during argument Monday night in South Shore

Chicago police said charges are pending against a man who was wounded by a conceal carry license holder Monday night after an argument turned physical and he produced a gun in the South Shore neighborhood.

About 9 p.m., a 30-year-old man was standing outside in the 7200 block of South Shore Drive when he was involved in an argument with a man inside a vehicle. The argument became physical when the 30-year-old CCL holder saw a gun. The CCL holder drew his weapon and fired shots at the man, striking him once in the chest, police said.

The man who was shot got himself to Jackson Park Community Hospital where he was listed in fair condition. The wounded man was placed into custody at the hospital and charges were pending.

A weapon also was recovered at the scene. Detectives are investigating.
