Several nearby communities canceled Fourth of July activities after the shooting at the Highland Park Fourth of July parade Monday morning. Among them: Arlington Heights, Elgin, Elk Grove Village, Buffalo Grove, Mount Prospect, Northbrook, Glenview and Vernon Hills. But many suburbs so far are carrying on with their fireworks shows.
