Marine Corps Reserve Col. Patty Klop of Wauconda will be the first woman to serve as the keynote speaker at Crystal Lake’s Memorial Day ceremony. Klop, who spent five years in the U.S. Marine Corps and the next 24 years with the Marine Corps Reserves, served in Afghanistan and Iraq.
