Mayor Lori Lightfoot wrote to the Cook County chief judge, requesting that judges should stop ordering certain defendants to await trial at home with an electronic-monitoring ankle bracelet. Many of the claims and statistics in her letter are misleading, the Tribune found after examining the cases highlighted by the mayor.
