Seventeen authors, hailing from the North Shore and the Chicago area, and some with books from major publishing houses, are ready to greet readers and potential readers at the Northbrook Library’s Meet the Author Fair Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 am to 2 p.m.
Each author will have a table, and attendees can ask the authors about their books, skim through the books, purchase them, or check out the book from the library, since many are in the library catalog, said Linda Vering, the library’s marketing and communications manager.
“Some of the authors may draw people specifically because they are well-known,” she said.
The authors run the gamut of genres, including historical fiction, romance and children’s literature.
The books are all from the last three to seven years and feature a good mix of contemporary voices and topics, she said.
Attendees will also have a chance to enter a drawing for the chance to win a book bundle that includes some of the books available at the event.
Featured authors include:
- Katherine Reay, The Berlin Letters
- Rowan Beaird, The Divorcées
- Skyler Schrempp, Three Strike Summer
- Libby Fischer Hellman Max’s War
- Stephanie Jayne, I’ve Got My Mind Set on Brew
