As the filing deadline for the May primary nears at noon on Feb. 9, a growing slate of candidates have filed to run in the hopes of landing on the general election ballot for Porter County offices.
As of Friday afternoon, they include:
Treasurer: Jimmy (Jim) Albarran, Republican; Laura Shurr Blaney, Democrat
Surveyor: Kevin D. Breitzke, Democrat
Commissioner, District 1, South:
Ed Morales, Republican; Dan L. Whitten, Democrat
Commissioner, District 3, North:
Jim Biggs, Republican; Dane V. Lafata, Democrat
Council at-large:
Republicans: Andy Bozak; Mike Brickner; Michelle Harris; Dawn Miller; Nate Uldricks
Democrats: Bob DeRuntz; Sylvia Graham; Erik Wagner
