City’s annual online Arbor Day Tree Sale starts Monday
Naperville’s annual Arbor Day Tree Sale will open at 8 a.m. Monday, March 18, and will run for four weeks or until all trees are sold, whichever comes first.
Orders are placed at www.naperville.il.us/arbordaytreesale and customers can schedule what time they can pick up their trees between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the Public Works Service Center, 180 Fort Hill Drive.
The sale offers 400 trees in 31 different species, including maples, oaks and elms. Costs range from $45 to $105, a city news release said.
Customers are limited to six trees, and all sales are final. Tree sales close at 5 p.m. April 17 or when sold out.
The city also is promoting the use of rain barrels through its partnership with the Conservation Foundation and Upcycle Products. Residents interested in purchasing rain barrels can complete a mail-in form by April 12 or an online form by April 15, with pickup on the same day and at the same place as the tree pickup.

Golf tournaments scheduled for 2024 at Springbrook and Naperbrook
Naperville Park District will be holding 11 golf tournaments this year as part of the 2024 Brook Tournament Series at Springbrook and Naperbrook golf courses.
The schedule is:
- Partner Best-Ball Challenge, April 13 at the Naperbrook.
- Brooks Four-Ball Match Play, April 29 to Aug. 25 at both courses.
- Brooks Team Championship, May 18-19 at both courses.
- Senior Partner Championship, June 5 at Springbrook.
- Junior Amateur Championship, July 8 at Naperbrook.
- Men’s Amateur Championship, July 20-21 at both courses.
- Springbrook Women’s Invitational, Aug. 18 at Springbrook.
- Glen Ekey Senior Amateur Championship, Aug. 21-22 at both courses.
- Senior Fall Scramble, Oct. 12 at Springbrook.
- Fall Scramble, Oct. 12 at Springbrook.
- Turkey Shoot, Nov. 23-24 at both courses.

Scholarships available for low-income DuPage County residents
Scholarship applications are due May 3 for help low-income students living in DuPage County seeking help in offsetting the cost of tuition, books, supplies or other school-related needs.
Scholarship awards are between $500 and $2,500. Applicants need to show proof of DuPage County residency, gross household income for the past 30 days and information about household members, a DuPage County news release said.
Household income must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
The application must include a 500-word original essay, official school transcripts, two letters of recommendation, a financial aid award letter and proof of enrollment at an accredited Illinois institution, the release said.
Special consideration will be given to students interested in high-technology fields or other occupations in emerging fields.
