Navy Pier announces lineup for 2024’s Chicago Live festival

Navy Pier on Wednesday announced the lineup for a Chicago Live festival in September it is billing as the largest free performing arts festival in the Midwest.

The two-day event, slated for Sept. 21-22, will feature some 100 local groups performing on five stages. Headlining acts include the Joffrey Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Second City, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Chicago Philharmonic, Black Ensemble Theater and Blue Man Group, as well as Ginger Minj (“RuPaul’s Drag Race”), Felicia Fields and Oliv Blu (“The Voice”).

Stages and programs include the Chicago Sound Stage in Navy Pier’s Beer Garden, a 40th anniversary Tribute to House Music on the Wave Wall Stage and a DisFest celebration of artists with disabilities.

Back from 2023’s Chicago Live are Aerial Dance Chicago, Chicago Children’s Theatre, Chicago Human Rhythm Project, Chicago Repertory Ballet, Dee Alexander, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Ensemble Español, Giordano Dance Chicago, Muntu Dance Theatre, Porchlight Music Theatre, the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance, Red Clay Dance Company, Teatro ZinZanni, Trinity Irish Dance Company and others.

The Chicago Live festival was launched in 2021 to reconnect audiences with Chicago’s performing arts community during and after the pandemic. More information at NavyPier.org.
