Illinois State police have shut down all the lanes of a ramp and northbound Interstate 55 after an early morning crash involving a gunshot victim who was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on a northbound ramp that feeds into the Dan Ryan Expressway at Halsted Street.
The victim who suffered a gunshot wound was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
All lanes of the ramp remain closed as well as northbound I-55 while police investigate.
