Officers injured overnight in rollover accident in Austin neighborhood

Two officers were injured during a rollover accident overnight on the West Side in the Austin neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 3;15 a.m., the officers were responding to a call in the 400 block of North Central Avenue and were headed north when their squad car lost control and rolled over in the middle of the street, police said.

One officer suffered an injury to his hand and was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in good condition. Another officer suffered a leg injury and also was taken to an area hospital where she was listed in serious condition.

A pedestrian was riding a bike on the sidewalk and was struck by debris from the accident. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

Detectives were investigating.
