Officers responding to call Friday afternoon injured in crash in South Shore, woman also hurt

Chicago police officers responding to a call for service were struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly after 5 p.m., the officers were headed west in the 7500 block of South Jeffrey Boulevard when their car was struck by a SUV headed north at the intersection of 75th Street and Jeffrey.

A woman who was driving a gray SUV was injured and taken to South Shore Hospital where she was listed in fair condition. The officers also suffered injuries and were taken in good condition to a local hospital.

Citations were pending against the driver of the SUV.
