A suspect was arrested after a shooting inside the emergency room at Evanston Hospital Thursday night, authorities announced.
Evanston police announced on social media that one person had been wounded, suffering “non life-threatening injuries.”

The hospital, located at 2650 N. Ridge Avenue in Evanston, was placed on lockdown as of 9 p.m. Thursday and its emergency room was closed to new patients, according to a hospital spokesperson.
There was “no active threat” to the public, according to both the hospital and the police department.
